Open a folder. Flip through it at full speed.

Pict-o-view is a photo and video viewer for Mac that works on the folders you choose. There's no library to import, and nothing is uploaded.

Free. Requires macOS 15 or later on a Mac with Apple silicon.

Pict-o-view's main window: a folder in the sidebar and a grid of 18 landscape photos, one selected.

Every folder you add opens as a grid of thumbnails, with subfolders as a tree in the sidebar.

Cull a whole shoot with three keys.

Press ⌘K to start. Each key marks the photo and moves to the next one, so you can go through hundreds of frames without touching the mouse.

  • KeepFlag the frames worth editing.
  • RejectSend them all to the Trash in one go when you're done.
  • UnmarkChange your mind. ⌘Z works too.

Marks are saved, survive a restart, and stay with each file when you rename or move it. You can change the keys in Settings.

Two photos side by side in Compare, with Keep, Reject and Unmark at the bottom.

What else it does

The parts of a photo app you use every day, and none of the library management you didn't ask for.

It only sees the folders you give it.
